Hyundai Set to Reveal New i40 Sedan in Spain Posted: 07 May 2011 01:00 PM PDT Hyundai has been on a roll lately, going from win to win on the strength of its current product, positive “buzz” over its recent “Blue” hydrogen concept cars, and the genius of its industry-leading “Hyundai Assurance” program. Hyundai’s marketers deserve an inch of freedom, I suppose – and they are taking a mile of it, flying to Spain to reveal its 40+mpg i40 sedan (similar to America’s Sonata) to the world at the 2011 Barcelona Auto Show, which kicks off on May 12. Hyundai claims this new i40 sedan was designed “from the ground up” by Europeans, in Europe, to meet EU market demands. "We have used very strong, fluid lines from front to rear to give i40 a distinctive appearance. We wanted to move away from the typical three-box saloon and create a car that was in keeping with the sporty nature of the i40 estate. By sculpting a low, elongated roof line, we've given the i40 saloon a striking coupe-like silhouette," commented Thomas Bürkle, Chief Designer at Hyundai Motor, Europe. Expect to see official pictures of the new i40 here, once they become available. Source: AutoEvolution. |
